Compressor low-pressure pipe, Z19 |
The compressor's low-pressure pipe runs from the expansion valve to the joint behind the headlamp.

Be careful not to contaminate the expansion valve. |

To remove |
1. |
Drain the refrigerant from the A/C system. See
Draining and filling of refrigerant
.

2. |
Detach the inlet hose with mass air flow sensor without unplugging the contact and place it to one side.
|
3. |
Remove the connector.
|
4. |
Remove the connector's mounting.
|
5. |
Detach the low-pressure pipe from the junction block behind the headlamp.
|
6. |
Loosen and push aside the power-steering oil container.
|
7. |
Detach the rear end of the low-pressure pipe from the expansion valve.
Plug the openings. |
8. |
Loosen the pipe from the holders on the structure.

9. |
Carefully lift out the low-pressure pipe.

To fit |
1. |
Position the rear end of the low-pressure pipe in its correct location.
Adjust the oil level in the compressor. See Filling and adjustment of compressor oil . |
2. |
Remove the plugs and lubricate the O-rings on the low-pressure pipe. Use
Vaseline, Klüber Syntheso Pro AA2
.

3. |
Connect the low-pressure pipe to the expansion valve.
Tightening torque: 7 Nm (5 lbf ft) |
4. |
Fit the power-steering oil container.

5. |
Fasten the pipe with the holders on the structure.
|
6. |
Fit the O-ring on the connection to the connector. Use
Vaseline Klüber Syntheso Pro AA2
.

7. |
Press together the joint block and tighten.
Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 lbf ft) |
8. |
Fit the connector's mounting.
|
9. |
Plug in the connector.
|
10. |
Fit the inlet hose and mass air flow sensor.
|
11. |
Evacuate the A/C system and fill with R134a refrigerant. See
Draining and filling of refrigerant
.
