Rear centre belt, 5D

To remove



1. Fold forward the rear seat cushions.

2. Attach the rear belts to the belt holders on the C-pillars.

3. Fold forward the 40% backrest slightly and undo the trim bracket.

4. Unlock the lock at the sill using a screwdriver, then lift off the backrest (upwards).

5. Pull off the backrest from the hinge pin at the centre joint, then lift out the backrest.

6. Remove the centre belt lower bracket.


7. Remove the hinge pin at the centre joint.

Important

Do not touch the retaining bolts.


8. Undo the 60% backrest trim bracket (at the outer seatbelt anchor point).

9. Place the backrest in the upright position. Lift off the backrest from the left side bracket.


10. Move the 60% backrest towards the door so that the pin towards the centre joint comes out of its hole.

11. Lift out the backrest.

12. Remove the backrest lock's cover, 1 screw on the side plus clip (turned a 1/4 turn).


13. Pull off the back plate, attached with clips. Take the trim's angled side out of its groove to remove the plate.


Important

Be careful not to crack the corner.


14. Remove the belt plate, 4 screws, from the rear of the backrest.

15. Lift off the seatbelt guide on the backrest and remove it from the belt.


16. Cut away the foam stuffing a little so as to make the belt strap guide accessible.

Note

Use new nuts.


17. Remove the strap guide by removing the screws.

18. Thread out the strap guide and remove it from the belt.


19. Thread out the inertia reel and belt.


To fit



1. Thread in the inertia reel and belt.

2. Fit the belt plate to the rear of the backrest, 4 screws.

3. Thread the belt into the strap guide and put the belt strap guide into place, thread in the longer side first.

4. Fit the strap guide screws.

Tightening torque: 22 Nm (16 lbf ft)

5. Thread in the belt, fit the guide to the backrest.


6. Fit the back plate by pressing in the edges and press all clips into position.

7. Fit the backrest lock cover. Check the lock button function.


8. Lift in the 60% backrest.


9. Fold the centre seatbelt buckles to one side. Fit the pin to the intended hole in the centre joint.

10. Lift down the backrest vertically over the side bracket.

11. Hook the 60% backrest trim bracket into position.

12. Fit the hinge pin at the centre joint.

Tightening torque: 24 Nm (17.6 lbf ft)

Important

Do not touch the retaining bolts.


Check the 60% backrest's lock function and lock indication.

13. Lift in the 40% backrest and fit to the hinge pin at the centre joint.


14. Push down the backrest towards the side bracket and make sure that the lug locks.

15. Hook the trim bracket into position.

16. Push back the backrest so that the upper locks engage.

Check the function.

17. Fit the centre belt lower bracket.


Tightening torque: 45 Nm (33 lbf ft)

18. Fold down the rear seat cushions.
