1. | Unlock the car. Note: When the car's electrical system is in Transport mode, the car can only be unlocked manually. The left front door can be unlocked with the metal key. | ||
2. | Cars with sport chassis: Remove the transport supports from the suspension. | ||
3. | Remove the transport protection from the brake discs (some markets). | ||
4. | Retighten bolted joints . | ||
5. | Perform a battery check . If possible, the battery must be checked before the car is started. This prevents misleading results due to "top charging". If the car was started, wait 20 minutes before connecting the battery analyser. | ||
6. | Adjust tyre pressure (including any spare tyre). | ||
7. | Cars with steel rims: Fit the hub caps. | ||
8. | For the following fluids, check the level, check for leaks and top up if necessary: Washer fluid Engine oil, transmission fluid and power steering fluid . Coolant, brake and clutch fluid. | ||
9. | Not US/CA: Put the auxiliary mats in place. | ||
10. | Remove the VIN labels from the side window of the rear door. | ||

Not US/CA: Fit cover washers to the front door and luggage compartment locks. Not US/CA: Affix anti-theft alarm labels . SE and FI: Affix child seat label . EU: Place "Certificate of Conformity" in owner's manual binder. Cars with navigation system: Insert map disc in navigation unit's DVD player. Fit wheel bolt caps . Not US/CA and PA: Fit spacer rings and number plate . |

12. | Activate Customer mode (TWICE control module); see Transport mode/Customer mode of car's electrical system . The transport fuse is packed in the glove box. | ||
13. | Carry out Procedure after battery disconnection and program SID, Saab Information Display . | ||
14. | Set the date and time . | ||
15. | Check the function of the wash/wipe systems . | ||
16. | Delete diagnostic trouble codes in all systems. | ||
17. | Fit the cover over the battery . | ||
18. | Test-drive the car. | ||
19. | SE, US and CA: Diagnostic trouble codes after test drive , Check that no new diagnostic trouble codes have been detected in the management systems for the engine and automatic transmission. Press the cap into place on the data link connector after disconnecting the diagnostic tool. | ||
20. | Remove the towing eye, close the cover, remove the spare wheel and place the towing eye in the tool compartment. Refit the spare wheel if it is a component of the car. | ||

Remove the protection from the following locations in the cabin
- Front and rear seats. - Gear lever/gear selector. - Floor - Steering wheel - Door trim on driver's side. - Front sills. - Lower part of dashboard. - Cars with navigation system: Navigation unit display. |
