Location

This paint protection film is fitted at the following locations:

sills (Aero)

tailgate

bonnet

roof

rear door, driver's side

Removal

Removal of RAPGARD paint protection must be performed inside the temperature range of 0 to +35°C, most suitable temperature is +20°C. If the body and the ambient temperature are higher than +35°C, park the car in the shade, or cool with water until the body reaches a suitable temperature.

Important

In high temperatures the adhesive residue can stick to the paint surface.

The paint protection film must be removed at least 48 hours before any customer demonstration in order that any swelling has time to subside.

1. Detach the plastic film at the corners. Use hands only, no tools

2. Grip the plastic film and hold your hands as close as possible to the surface of the body.

3. Pull with even speed in parallel with the surface of the body, do not tug .

4. Wash the car with water and wipe it off

5. Check that no adhesive residue remains. Remove adhesive residue with Ligroin (white spirit) (low aromatic petroleum hydrocarbons) or isopropanol (isopropyl alcohol). Use these fluids in moderate quantities and not for a long time.

When the plastic film and any adhesive residue have been removed, areas of swelling may remain in the paintwork. These are normally temporary and disappear within 48 hours.

Washing

1. Washing the car.

2. Clean all windows and remove grease residue from the windscreen and wiper blades using concentrated washer fluid.

3. Remove transport and storage protection from doors, floor and seats. Also remove the rubber grommets that secured the floor protection to the locating studs for the extra mats. Check/remove any internal stains.

Warning

The protective plastic must be removed before the car is delivered to the customer as it does not fulfil flammability requirements (legal requirements).

Warning

Check that the rear seat backrest cushions are firmly locked.

Clean any dirt stains on plastic surfaces using soap diluted in lukewarm water. Rinse the surface with clean water before drying.

Important

Vinyl sprays and similar must absolutely not be used due to the risk of a coating on windows that impairs visibility.

4. Clean rubber mouldings, tyre walls and bumpers.

5. Visually examine the car, remove stains. Polish the car externally if necessary.
