Type of diagnosis:
Enable criteria:

Engine speed greater than 2750 rpm
|
Fault criteria:

The current boost pressure exceeds the requested pressure for more than 4 s.
|
System reaction to a fault:
-
|
Limp Home, torque limitation.
|
-
|
Output to A/C relay switched off.
|
-
|
In case of error, EGR control is deactivated.
|
Diagnostic help
The diagnostics compare the requested and current boost pressures. A DTC is generated if the current boost pressure is greater than the requested.
The DTC indicates a mechanical fault in the turbo, air leakage from between the turbo and intake, leakage in the vacuum system, faulty solenoid valve or faulty boost pressure sensor.
Air leakage between the turbo unit and intake can cause the turbo unit to become damaged very quickly due to overrevving.
Mechanical fault in the turbocharger or air leakage in the system.
