Brief description |
The exhaust system is designed to carry the exhaust gases away from the engine, ensuring low resistance to flow, a low noise level and long life. The exhaust system consists of two parts, the front section with three-way catalytic converter and rear section consisting of two silencers. Both silencers are a combination of resonance and absorption types.
The exhaust system is corrosion-protected as the front pipe, connecting pipe between the silencers and the silencers themselves are made of stainless 12% chrome steel. The outer casing is aluminized. All joints are of the flange type without gaskets, for ease of changing and ensuring a good fit.
The exhaust system is rubber-mounted at nine points. To ensure good ground clearance it runs through a channel in the floor pan.
When replacing the rear silencer, the system should be severed ahead of the rear silencer and a new silencer fitted. The system will then have an additional joint.
