Diagnostic help
Most of the functions that can prevent the engine from being started are monitored by self-diagnosis and therefore generate a diagnostic trouble code if they develop a fault. Consequently, this fault diagnosis concerns faults that can prevent the engine from being started but are not monitored.
First check that the fuel pump is in working order and delivers pressure. Then check the ignition discharge module and spark plugs.
Functions in the diagnostic tool related to the fault:
•
|
Activation of fuel pump relay.
|
•
|
Activation of ignition trigger.
|
See also the description of activating functions under ”Fault diagnosis, general” for more information.
Check the wiring
Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at various points and in different directions to detect any intermittent breaks or short circuits in the wiring. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool while doing this.
