Reversing lights

Reversing lights

The reversing light comes on when reverse gear is engaged.

DICE detects the status (ON/OFF) of the reversing-light switch and outputs the information to the bus.

+54 voltage is fed to the reversing-light switch (31) from fuse 2.

When reverse gear is engaged on a manual gearbox, the reversing-light switch (31) closes and current is fed to the reversing lights.

When reverse gear is engaged on an automatic transmission, the reversing-light switch (31) in the gear selector (239) closes and current is fed to the reversing lights via the reversing-light relay (405).

The same voltage supplied to the reversing lights (32 HL and 32 HR) is also applied to pin 45 on DICE. This information is used for the rear window wiper. The control module detects the voltage and sends reverse gear information on the bus that is used by other systems, e.g. the PMM (Power Mirror Memory).
