Disconnecting the tilt sensor

Disconnecting the tilt sensor

The tilt sensor can be disconnected to avoid false alarms if the car is parked on a moving surface, e.g. a car ferry.

Disconnection

Disconnection takes place (the key must be removed from the ignition switch) by depressing the CLEAR button for several seconds. The glass breakage sensor is also disconnected.

The disconnection is confirmed with the text DOOR ALARM ONLY being shown in SID. The car must then be locked within 3 minutes in order that the disconnection is applied when the alarm is armed.

Connection

The disconnection is cancelled the next time the car is unlocked or when the CLEAR button is depressed again. FULL THEFT ALARM is then shown in SID

Important

If a fault arises in the tilt sensor then the CHECK message SERVICE THEFT ALARM is shown in SID.
