Glass breakage sensor (4D)
Glass breakage sensor (4D) |
General |
The glass breakage sensor is acoustically sensitive (microphone type) and detects whether a car window has been broken. It is integrated in the rear ceiling lamp and is connected to TWICE on the following pins:
Voltage +12V
pin no. 10
Ground
pin no. 57
Signal
pin no. 58
Function |
When the anti-theft alarm is armed, the glass breakage sensor is activated when it receives a power supply of +12V from the control module to pin 2.
If a window is broken, the sensor will detect the noise, process the information and decide whether the alarm should be set off or not. If the alarm is to be set off, pin 58 on TWICE will be grounded via pin 1 on the sensor.
Once the car key has been removed from the ignition switch, the glass breakage sensor can be manually disconnected with the CLEAR button. Information that it has been disconnected is sent on the bus and is read by TWICE, which deactivates the sensor.
