Checking the transmission fluid level
|
Checking and topping up the transmission fluid should be carried out in accordance with the service schedule.
The level of the fluid can be checked in the following manner:
1.

Position the car on a level surface and apply the handbrake. When checking the fluid level, the transmission should be at operating temperature (approx. + 80°C), which will be attained after driving a distance of approx. 20 km.

Hold the foot brake down.

2.
|
Run the engine at idling speed, engage position D and wait at least 15 seconds. Then engage R and wait 15 seconds. Do the same in position P.
|
3.
|
Wipe the dipstick clean with a lint-free cloth and put it back in the transmission.
|
4.
|
The fluid level should be between the MIN and MAX marks on the side of the dipstick marked +80°C. Top up as necessary with automatic transmission fluid through the dipstick pipe. Refer to

. The distance between the marks corresponds to about 0.5 litres.
Important
|
Change the fluid if it has a burnt smell or is black.
