B0016 Passenger frontal deployment circuit (stage 1) resistance low

B0017 Passenger frontal deployment circuit (stage 1) open

B0018 Passenger frontal deployment circuit (stage 1) voltage out of range


Fault symptom

Airbag warning lamp on.

Fault criteria

B0016 The resistance measured by the control module falls below 1.5 ±0.2 Ω for 2 s

B0017 The resistance measured by the control module exceeds 4.5 ±0.2 Ω for 2 s

B0018 Voltage on pin 44 in the control module exceeds 4.1 ±0.15 V or falls below 1.0 ±0.15 V for 2 s.

System reaction to a fault

Even if there is a fault in the ignition circuit, the control module will try to trigger the airbag in the event of a collision.

Diagnostic help

The diagnostic tool can be used to read the amount of resistance in the ignition circuit.
