Clean the ball unit and its mounting as necessary. Check that the ball unit is easy to fit/remove and that it locks firmly. When lubricating, use a base oil with anti-corrosion properties and a wide temperature range.

Clean and lubricate the coupling mechanism.
Lubricate the pin on the top of the towbar and the lock cylinder.
