Auxiliary heater, Z19, Aut, LHD

To remove


1. Loosen the coolant expansion tank cap to release any pressure. Then tighten the cap.

2. Remove the cable tie. Remove the hose clips from the coolant hoses.


3. Clamp the hoses using 30 07 739 Hose pinch-off pliers and detach the hoses from the heater.

4. Detach the fuel hose from the heater.

5. Remove the connector clips. Unplug the connector.

6. Undo the exhaust pipe clamp.

7. Remvoe the exhaust pipe mounting from the bulkhead.

8. Remove the exhaust pipe from the heater.

9. Remove the mounting and remove the heater from the bracket.


To fit


1. Fit the heater to the bracket. Fit the mounting.


2. Fit the exhaust pipe to the heater.

3. Fit the exhaust pipe mounting to the bulkhead.

4. Tighten the exhaust pipe clamp.

5. Plug in the connector. Fit the connector clips.

6. Attach the fuel hose to the heater.

7. Attach the hoses to the heater. Remove 30 07 739 Hose pinch-off pliers .

8. Fit the hose clips to the coolant hoses.

9. Fit the cable tie.

10. Pressure test the cooling system. See Cooling system, pressure testing .

11. Check the heater functions.

12. Fill with coolant to the correct level.
