Read the instructions below then start the fault diagnostic procedure.

Symptom: CHECK ENGINE lamp on. Loss of performance.

P0106


Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Circuit. Plausibility Fault with Atmosphere Pressure.

Fault symptoms


• CHECK ENGINE lamp on.

• Loss of performance.


On-Board Diagnostics

Type of diagnosis:


- Continuous.


Enable criteria:


- Turn Ignition On.


Fault criteria:


- The difference between boost pressure and atmospheric pressure is greater than 15 kPa for more than 20 s.


System reaction to a fault:


- Limp Home, torque limitation.

- EGR control and boost pressure control are deactivated.

- The control module uses a substitute value of 101.3 kPa.


Check the wiring

A fault in the control module's female connector can generate a DTC. Check the contact for oxidation, dislodge pins and pin clamping force.

Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at various points and in different directions to detect any intermittent breaks or short circuits in the wiring. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool while doing this.
