Read the instructions below then start the fault diagnostic procedure.

Symptom: CHECK ENGINE lamp on. Idling set to 1400 rpm. Not possible to control engine speed. Cruise control out of order.

Pedal Position Sensor Circuit 2. Short to B+.

Fault symptoms


• CHECK ENGINE lamp on.

• Idling set to 1400 rpm.

• Not possible to control engine speed.

• Cruise control out of order.


On-Board Diagnostics

Type of diagnosis:


- Continuous.


Enable criteria:


- Turn Ignition On.


Fault criteria:


- The voltage on the input is greater than 2.5 V for more than 0.3 s.


System reaction to a fault:


- Limp Home, engine speed limitation.

- Cruise control is switched off.


Check the wiring

A fault in the control module's female connector can generate a DTC. Check the contact for oxidation, dislodge pins and pin clamping force.

Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at various points and in different directions to detect any intermittent breaks or short circuits in the wiring. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool while doing this. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, dislodged pins and pin clamping force.
