Exhaust system

The exhaust system is designed to lead away engine exhaust gases with a low flow resistance, low noise level and long service life. The exhaust system is suspended in seven rubber mountings.

Cars with particle trap:

The exhaust system consists of four components: a front section with a forward catalytic converter, intermediate pipe, particle trap and a rear section with silencer. The silencer is an absorption silencer.

The front catalytic converter is connected to turbine outlet via a V-band. An intermediate pipe with flex component is located between the front catalytic converter and the particle trap. After the particle trap comes the rear system which constitutes a unit. The rear system is connected to the particle trap with a sleeve.

Cars without particle trap:

The exhaust system consists of the following components: front catalytic converter, intermediate pipe with flex component, primary catalytic converter, silencer and a rear silencer. The silencer is an absorption silencer.

Heat shields

Heat shields are mounted above the exhaust system's most heat-intense zones to protect vulnerable areas at which thermal radiation could otherwise cause damage.
