Theft protection

Theft protection

General

The audio system is equipped with electronic theft protection. Information concerning the theft-protection device is connected in the form of a code to the audio system of the car in which it is installed. Programming is performed with the diagnostic tool.

Function

The anti-theft protection is intended to prevent theft by “marriage” of the head unit and CD-changer to the car. If the head unit has not been “married”, “TheftLock is activated” appears on the head unit's display when the audio system is activated. If the CD changer has not been “married”, “CDC CODE” appears on the SID on activation.

The audio head unit checks at regular intervals that the anti-theft information corresponds (if “marriage” has taken place). This also applies if +30 has been disconnected temporarily. If the information is incorrect, “TheftLock is activated” appears on the head unit display.

If there is a CD-changer installed in the car, unique anti-theft information is also included for that component. If the information for the CD-changer does not correspond (the unit has not been “married”), "CDC LOCKED" appears on the SID when the CD changer is selected.

Note

The diagnostic tool must be used in order to “marry/divorce” the audio system and the car. The divorce can only be effected in the original car and with the correct key in the ignition switch. See Changing the audio system head unit .
