The car can be provided with provisions for a mobile phone (TEL 0) or additionally for handsfree operation (TEL 1).
Provisions for mobile phone (TEL 0)
A connection for a mobile phone with a power supply for charging the phone's battery. When the phone is in use, the sound source is muted automatically and switched to the phone (line in). The volume of the telephone can be preset as well as adjusted during the call.
Provisions for handsfree (TEL 1)
A mobile phone connection for “handsfree” function. Handsfree means that a call can be taken without lifting the receiver.
When a telephone is connected “handsfree”, the incoming telephone sound is transferred to the audio system. At the same time, the normal sound is switched off. The outgoing sound is picked up by a built-in microphone in the car.

Main unit |
The main unit for the telephone system is the main audio system main unit.
Display |
The telephone system uses the SID to indicate that the telephone is active. Display information is sent on the bus from the audio system and read by SID.
Amplifier |
The Premium and Prestige audio systems both have side speakers which relay incoming telephone sound during a call.
Speakers |
The audio system has side and centre speakers in the dashboard as well as in the front and rear doors. The Prestige system includes a bass speaker in the parcel shelf as well. These can relay incoming telephone sound during a call.
Steering wheel controls |
The volume for the incoming telephone sound can be adjusted easily and safely with the controls on the steering wheel.
The controls are connected to the SID which detects their positions and sends information via the bus to the main unit.
