Removal Procedure |
1. |
Turn the steering wheel to the left.
|
2. |
Turn the ignition OFF.
|
3. |
Open hood.
|
4. |
Remove the oil fill cap.
|
5. |
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
|
6. |
Remove the 4 lower engine compartment cover fasteners (1). Open the lower engine compartment cover (2).
|
7. |
Remove the oil sump baffle, refer to
Oil Sump Baffle Replacement
|
8. |
Install the
EN-49377
retainer (2) below the engine oil filter housing (1) and oil filter cap.
|
9. |
Place a suitable container below the special tool
EN-49377
retainer.
|
10. |
Remove the oil filter cap (2). |
11. |
Remove and discard the oil filter insert (1).
|
12. |
Place a suitable container below the oil pan drain plug.
|
13. |
Remove the oil pan drain plug.
|
14. |
Allow the oil to drain completely.
|
Installation Procedure |
1. |
Refer to
Fastener Caution
.
Install the oil pan drain plug with a NEW O-ring seal and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft) . |

Install the NEW oil filter cartridge (1). |
4. |
Install the oil filter cap (2) and tighten to
25 Nm (18 lb ft)

5. |
Remove the
EN-49377
retainer (2) from the engine oil filter housing (1) and oil filter cap.
|
6. |
Install the oil sump baffle, refer to
Oil Sump Baffle Replacement.
|
7. |
Close the lower engine compartment cover (2). Install the 4 lower engine compartment cover fasteners (1).
|
8. |
Lower the vehicle.
|
9. |
Fill the engine with the appropriate oil type and quantity. Refer to
Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations
and
Approximate Fluid Capacities
.
|
10. |
Install the oil fill cap.
|
11. |
Close the hood.
|
12. |
Center the steering.
|
