Oil Pan Installation

Note

It is absolutely necessary to install a NEW sealing every time the oil pan was removed.


Instal a NEW sealing (2) to the oil pump (1).


2. Clean the surface (3) of all oil and debris.

3. Make sure that the oil pan and mounting surface on the lower crankcase are free of all oil and debris.

4. Apply a bead of appropriate sealant around the perimeter of the oil pan and the oil suction port opening. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers for the recommended sealant.

5. Install the oil pan (2).


6. Refer to Fastener Caution .

Install the 14 oil pan bolts (1) and tighten the M6 bolts to 9 (80 lb in) and the M8 bolts to 25 (19 lb ft) .
