Piston, Connecting Rod, and Bearing Installation

1.
|
Lubricate the piston rings, piston, inner cylinder bore surface and a piston ring compressor with clean engine oil.
|
2.
|
Install the piston ring compressor in order to compress the piston rings.
|
3.
|
Install the piston and connecting rod assembly (4).
|
4.
|
Install the connecting rod bearing (3).
|
5.
|
Install the connecting rod cap (1).
|
7.
|
Tighten the NEW connecting rod bolts (2) in 2 passes:

|
•
|
First pass in sequence to
25 Nm(19 lb ft)
|
|
•
|
Second pass to
60°
using the
EN 45059
sensor
|
8.
|
Assemble the caps and connecting rods in the marked position.
|
9.
|
Rotate the crankshaft to a position where the connecting rod bolts are in the best situation for install.
