Cylinder Head Installation - Right Side


Special Tools

EN 49411 Torque Angle Sensor Kit

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .



1. Ensure the cylinder head locating pins are securely mounted in the cylinder block deck face.

Install a NEW cylinder head gasket bank 1 using the deck face locating pins for retention.


2. Align the cylinder head bank 1 with the deck face locating pins.


3. Place the cylinder head bank 1 in position on the deck face.

Note
• DO NOT allow oil on the cylinder head bolt bosses.

• DO NOT reuse the old cylinder head bolts.


Install NEW 8 cylinder head bolts.


5. Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten the NEW 8 cylinder head bolts:

5.1. First pass in sequence to 45 Nm(33 lb ft) .

5.2. Tighten the second pass in sequence to an additional 120 degrees using the EN 49411 angle sensor.
