Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement

Removal Procedure


1. Remove the charge air cooler outlet air tube. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube Replacement .

2. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .

3. Disconnect the fuel feed pipe quick connect fitting (1) from the fuel feed pipe (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .


4. Loosen the fuel feed pipe from all retainer.

5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

Note

Do NOT remove the front suspension frame.


Remove the drivetrain and front suspension frame support right side. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Front Crossmember Replacement (GNA) Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Front Crossmember Replacement (GNB) .

7.
Note

Do NOT remove the AC evaporator thermal expansion valve heat and brake pipe shield.


Remove both AC evaporator thermal expansion valve heat and brake pipe shield fasteners (1).

8. Remove the fuel tank protector. Refer to Fuel Tank Protector Replacement .

9. Remove the fuel pressure sensor. Refer to Fuel Pressure Sensor Replacement .

10. Disconnect the fuel feed pipe quick connect fitting (1) from the fuel feed pipe rear (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .


11. Plug the fuel pipe and cap the fuel feed pipe to prevent fuel loss or contamination.

12. Remove the fuel feed pipe from the 5 fuel feed pipe retainer.

13. With the aid of an assistant, remove the fuel feed pipe from the vehicle.


Installation Procedure


1. Refer to Fastener Caution .

Ensure that the fuel feed pipe and fittings are clean and dry prior to assembly.

2. With the aid of an assistant, install the fuel feed pipe to the vehicle.

3. Install the fuel feed pipe to the 5 fuel feed pipe retainer.

4. Connect the fuel feed pipe quick connect fitting (1) to the fuel feed pipe rear (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .


5. Install the fuel pressure sensor. Refer to Fuel Pressure Sensor Replacement .

6. Install the fuel tank protector. Refer to Fuel Tank Protector Replacement .

7. Install both AC evaporator thermal expansion valve heat and brake pipe shield fasteners (1).


8. Install the drivetrain and front suspension frame support right side. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Front Crossmember Replacement (GNA) Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Front Crossmember Replacement (GNB) .

9. Lower the vehicle.

10. Install the fuel feed pipe to all retainer.

11. Connect the fuel feed pipe quick connect fitting (1) to the fuel feed pipe (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .


12. Inspect for leaks using the following procedure:

12.1. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.

12.2. Turn OFF the ignition, for 10 seconds.

12.3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

12.4. Inspect for fuel leaks.

13. Install the charge air cooler outlet air tube. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube Replacement .
