       Preliminary Procedure
      
        
         
          | 1. | With the engine OFF, apply the brake pedal several times until the brake pedal becomes firm to deplete the vacuum brake booster vacuum reserve. 
 
 |  
        
         
          | 2. | Remove the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir, using a suitable suction device. 
 
 |  
        
         
          | 3. | Disconnect the brake fluid level sensor electrical connector.

       Procedures
      
        
         
          | 1. | If equipped, disconnect the clutch master cylinder hose from the brake master cylinder reservoir. 
 
 |  
        
         
          | 2. | Cap the brake fluid reservoir outlet and plug the clutch master cylinder hose inlet to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

       Procedures
      
        
         
          | 1. | If installing a replacement reservoir on manual transmission vehicles, twist the cap off of the master cylinder reservoir. 
 
 |  
        
         
          | 2. | Ensure the outlet port is free from debris and contamination. 
 
 |  
        
         
          | 3. | Fit new seals. Do NOT re-use seals. 
 
 |  
        
         
          | 4. | Lubricate the seals with clean DOT 3 motor vehicle brake fluid. 
 
 |  
        
         
          | 5. | Fill the master cylinder reservoir. 
 
 |  
 |
