Preliminary Procedure

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .

2. Remove the instrument panel assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement .

Instrument Panel Inflatable Restraint Module Fastener (Qty: 6)

Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten

8 Nm (70 lb in)

Procedures

1. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

2. After replacing the module, deploy the old module before disposal. If the module was replaced under warranty, fully deploy and dispose of the module after the required retention period. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Module Handling and Scrapping .
