Removal Procedure |
1. |
Disable the SIR system. Refer to
SIR Disabling and Enabling
.

2. |
Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
|
3. |
Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to
Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement
.
|
4. |
Remove the rear bumper fascia energy absorber.
|
5. |
Disconnect trailer hitch wiring harness plug.
|
6. |
Detach the rear muffler bracket. Lower the exhaust system behind down and secure with hydraulic jack.
|
7. |
Remove the two trailer hitch fasteners (1) with the reinforcement plate (2) on the underbody, left side.
|
8. |
Remove the 2 trailer hitch fasteners (3) with the reinforcement plate (4) on the underbody, right side.
|
9. |
Remove the 4 trailer hitch fasteners (1).
|
10. |
Remove the trailer hitch (1).
|
Installation Procedure |
1. |
Remove the trailer hitch wiring harness (1) from the old trailer hitch.
|
2. |
Install this trailer hitch wiring harness (1) on the new trailer hitch.
|
3. |
Install the trailer hitch (1) on the car.
|
4. |
Install the trailer hitch fastener (1).
|
5. |
Refer to
Fastener Caution
.
Tighten the fastener (1) to 40 (30 lb ft) + 60° . |
6. |
Install the trailer hitch fastener with the reinforcement plates, both sides.
|
7. |
Tighten the fasteners (1, 3) to
40 Nm (30 lb ft) + 60°
.
|
8. |
Tighten the fasteners (2, 4) to
75 Nm (55 lb ft) + 60°
.
|
9. |
Install the exhaust system.
|
10. |
Connect trailer hitch wiring harness plug.
|
11. |
Install the rear bumper fascia energy absorber.
|
12. |
Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to
Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement
.
|
13. |
Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
|
14. |
Enable the SIR system. Refer to
SIR Disabling and Enabling
.
