Acceptance inspection

Acceptance inspection

Acceptance inspection of a new vehicle is mandatory for all vehicles.

Carry out the checks and confirm this by signing the "Acceptance Inspection Form ".

US: Carry out the checks in accordance with the consignment note "Bill of Lading".

New vehicles must be checked as soon as possible after receipt. The recipient is responsible that faults and deviations are reported in accordance with the procedures in force.

1. Check that the vehicle's specification is consistent with the order form. Also applies to optional equipment.

2. Check the underbody for transit damage.

3. Check that the vehicle's spare wheel/repair kit and tools are included.

4. Perform Battery Inspection/Test .

Important

If possible, the battery should be checked before the car is started in order to prevent misleading results due to "top charging". If the car has already been started, wait 20 minutes before connecting the battery analyser.

5. Clean the vehicle for paint and damage inspection. If the vehicle is washed free from dirt and dust with strong alkaline detergent then this could affect the paintwork. Use as few chemicals as possible in this cleaning.

Vehicles with plastic paint protector: If damage has occurred in the paint protector, remove it in order to investigate possible damage. Then store the vehicle preferably under a roof.

6. Check the vehicle inside and out for damage.

7. Record and report any damage and other observations.

Measures if the vehicle shall be stored

1. Check and if necessary adjust the tyre pressure to 3.5 bar (50 psi).

Important

If the car is parked for lengthier periods with underinflated tyres, a flat area will form where they are resting on the ground. This gives rise to vibration and makes wheel balancing more difficult.

2. If the vehicle is stored in ambient temperatures above +20°C (69°F), the tank should be filled with fuel to at least 2/3; otherwise there is a risk of fuel pump malfunction due to oxidation.

Additional measures if the vehicle shall be stored outdoors

1. Check Coolant freezing point and level . The coolant should be able to handle at least -30°C (-22°F). It then also gives maximum corrosion protection. Some climate zones require that the mixture withstands lower temperatures. Refill as required in accordance with specification.

2. If the vehicle's plastic paint protector has been removed then the vehicle should preferably be stored under a roof.

3. Drive the vehicle to its parking place. At the same time carry out several short braking procedures so that the brake discs are clean and dry.

4. Make sure that:

The handbrake lever is in fully released position.

Manual gearbox: Reverse gear is selected.

Automatic transmission: Selector lever is in position P.

All windows, doors and bootlid/tailgate are properly closed.

5. Check and correct if necessary the protective plastic for the seats.

6. Lock the vehicle.
