Fuel Rail and Injectors Cleaning and Inspection (LAU or LBW)

/ 9-5 (9650) / 2011 / 2. Engine / Basic engine, V6 / Adjustment/replacement / Fuel Rail and Injectors Cleaning and Inspection (LAU or LBW)

Removal Procedure

1.	Remove the fuel injector retainer clip (1).

2.	Remove the fuel injector (1).

3.	Remove and discard the fuel injector seals (2).

4.	Note Do not soak or submerge the fuel rail or injectors in solvent. Clean the exterior of the fuel rail and injectors with solvent.

5.	Inspect the fuel rail and components for the following conditions:

•

Damage, debris, or restrictions to the fuel rail

•

Damage, debris, or restrictions to the fuel ports in the fuel rail

•

Damage to the mounting area for the fuel rail

•

Damage to the fuel rail mounting bolts

6.	Inspect the fuel injectors for the following conditions:

•

Damage to the fuel injector electrical connector

•

Damage to the fuel inlet

•

Damage to the fuel injector body

•

Damage to the fuel injector tip

7.	Replace the fuel rail or fuel injectors if damage is found.

Installation Procedure

1.	Lubricate the NEW fuel injector seals (2) with 5W30 engine oil.

2.	Install the NEW fuel injector seals (2).

3.	Install the fuel injector into the fuel rail (1).

4.	Install the fuel injector retainer clip (1).
