This DTC is used for information only. This DTC does NOT indicate there is a condition with the crankshaft position sensor or the engine control module. |
This DTC is used to indicate that the engine speed exceeded the fuel cutoff limit in gear. This DTC may set if the transmission is placed in a low gear while driving down a steep grade or traveling at a high speed.
Conditions for Running the DTC |
• |
The engine is running.

• |
The DTC runs continuously once the above condition is met.
|
Conditions for Setting the DTC |
The ECM detects the engine speed is greater than 6800 RPM for greater than 0.4 s.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets |
DTC P0219 00 is a Type D DTC.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC |
DTC P0219 00 is a Type D DTC.
Diagnostic Aids |
An overspeed condition can only exist when a low gear on a manual transmission is selected and the vehicle is traveling at high road speed. This DTC cannot be set by free reving the engine.
