DTC P161C 00

Tire Size Not Programmed

Circuit/System Description

This diagnostic addresses if the ECM is not programmed with the tire size.

Conditions for Running the DTC


• The ignition is ON.

• This DTC runs continuously once the above conditions are met.


Conditions for Setting the DTC

The ECM detects that the tire size is not programmed in the EEPROM for greater than 1 second.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets


• DTC P161C 00 is a Type C DTC.

• The service vehicle soon indicator will illuminate.


Conditions for Clearing the DTC

DTC P161C 00 is a Type C DTC.

Circuit/System Testing

Program the ECM. Refer to Control Module References . If DTC P161C 00 sets after programming, perform the following steps:


• Ensure that all tool connections are secure.

• Ensure that the programming equipment is operating correctly.

• Ensure the correct software and the correct calibrations are being used.

• Attempt to program the ECM.

• If DTC P161C 00 sets, replace the K20 Engine Control Module.
