When adding coolant, use DEX-COOL® coolant. If silicated coolant is added to the system, premature engine, heater core or radiator corrosion may result. In addition, the engine coolant will require change sooner-at 50 000 km (30,000 mi) or 24 months.

Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.

Preliminary Procedure

Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor electrical connector.

Procedure
1.
|
Place a tray under the car to collect any draining coolant.
|
2.
|
Release the engine control module and move to one side.
|
3.
|
Release the air intake pipe and move to one side.
|
Tighten
22 Nm (16 lb ft)
