DTC P003A 00

Turbocharger Wastegate Solenoid Valve Control Performance

Circuit/System Description

The ECM varies the boost dependant upon the load requirements of the engine.

Conditions for Running the DTC


The battery voltage is equal to or greater than 11 V.

The engine speed is between 750-850 RPM.

The engine coolant temperature (ECT) is between 73-96°C (163-205°F).

DTC P003A runs once per key cycle when the above conditions are met.


Conditions for Setting the DTC


The engine control module (ECM) determines that the difference between the desired boost pressure actuator and the actual boost pressure actuator exceed a calibrated threshold.

The above condition is met.


Action Taken When the DTC Sets

DTC P003A is a Type C DTC.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

DTC P003A is a Type C DTC.

Circuit/System Verification


1. A mechanical fault can cause the DTC

2. Check the following components for proper working

Boost Pressure Actuator LPT

Boost Pressure Actuator HPT

Turbocharger

Vacuum System

3. Verify the DTC does not reset.

4. If the DTC resets, replace the K20 Engine Control Module.
