Evaporative Emission Canister Vent Front Pipe Replacement

Removal Procedure


1. Remove the charge air cooler outlet air tube. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube Replacement .

2. Disconnect the evaporative emission canister vent front pipe quick connect fitting from the evaporative emission pipe. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

3. Loosen the emission canister vent front pipe from all retainers.

4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

Note

Do NOT remove the front suspension frame.


Remove the drivetrain and front suspension frame support right side. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Front Crossmember Replacement (GNA) Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Front Crossmember Replacement (GNB) .

Note

Do NOT remove the AC evaporator thermal expansion valve heat and brake pipe shield.


Remove both AC evaporator thermal expansion valve heat and brake pipe shield fasteners (1).


7. Remove the fuel tank protector. Refer to Fuel Tank Protector Replacement .

8. Disconnect the evaporative emission canister purge pipe quick connect fitting (1) from the evaporative emission canister vent front pipe (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .


9. Remove the evaporative emission canister vent front pipe from the 5 retainers (2).

10. With the aid of an assistant, remove the evaporative emission canister vent front pipe from the vehicle.


Installation Procedure


1. Ensure that the evaporative emission pipes and fittings are clean and dry prior to assembly.

2. With the aid of an assistant, install the evaporative emission canister vent front pipe to the vehicle.

3. Install the evaporative emission canister vent front pipe to the 5 retainers (2).


4. Connect the evaporative emission canister purge pipe quick connect fitting (1) to the evaporative emission canister vent front pipe (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

5. Install the fuel tank protector. Refer to Fuel Tank Protector Replacement .

6. Install both AC evaporator thermal expansion valve heat and brake pipe shield fasteners (1).


7. Install the drivetrain and front suspension frame support right side. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Front Crossmember Replacement (GNA) Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Front Crossmember Replacement (GNB) .

8. Lower the vehicle.

9. Install the evaporative emission canister vent front pipe to all retainers.

10. Connect the evaporative emission canister vent front pipe quick connect fitting to the evaporative emission pipe. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

11. Install the charge air cooler outlet air tube. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube Replacement .
