Removal Procedure |
Refer to Exhaust Service Warning .
Refer to Protective Goggles and Glove Warning .
1. |
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.

2. |
Install the shipping fastening (1) to the flex pipe.
|
3. |
See assembly instruction (1) on the shipping fastening. |
4. |
Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the heated oxygen sensor 2 (1). Refer to
Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Sensor 2
.

5. |
Remove the exhaust front pipe from the catalytic converter.
|
6. |
Remove the fastener (1) of the exhaust front pipe from the catalytic converter.
|
7. |
Remove the exhaust front pipe (1) to muffler assembly fastener (2).
|
8. |
Remove the floor panel tunnel brace fastener.
|
9. |
Move the muffler assembly rearward in order to disengage the exhaust front pipe.
|
10. |
Discard both gaskets.
|
11. |
Remove the heated oxygen sensor 2 of the exhaust front pipe. Refer to
Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Sensor 2
.

Installation Procedure |
1. |
Install the heated oxygen sensor 2 to the exhaust front pipe. Refer to
Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Sensor 2
.

2. |
Install new gaskets to the exhaust front pipe and to the muffler assembly.
|
3. |
Install the exhaust front pipe to the vehicle.
|
4. |
Refer to
Fastener Caution
.
Install the floor panel tunnel fasteners and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft) . |
5. |
Install the exhaust front pipe to the catalytic converter.

6. |
Install the fastener (1) to the exhaust front pipe.
|
7. |
Install the exhaust front pipe (1) to the muffler assembly fasteners (2) and tighten to
25 Nm (18 lb ft)
.

8. |
Remove the shipping fastening (1) from the flex pipe.
|
9. |
Connect the electrical connector (2) to the heated oxygen sensor 2 (1). Refer to
Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Sensor 2
.

10. |
Lower the vehicle.
|
