Operation Lock - Heater Overheated More than 10 Times
| Circuit/System Description |
The parking heater controller monitors the coolant temperature to ensure that the temperature stays within the proper range. If the overtemperature sensor detects temperature greater than 125°C (257°F), it will turn off the controller.
| Conditions for Running the DTC |
The vehicle must not be ON. Battery voltage must be between 10-15 V.
| Conditions for Setting the DTC |
The parking heater controller detects that the heater has overheated more than 10 times.
| Action Taken When the DTC Sets |
The parking heater will lock.
| Conditions for Clearing the DTC |
DTC must be cleared with the remote control.
| Diagnostic Aids |
Check for proper operation of the heater coolant pump and water flow through the engine cooling system.

Ignition OFF, command the parking heater ON and OFF with the remote control. Verify the parking heater turns ON and OFF with no DTCs.

Ignition OFF, clear all DTCs.

Ensure that the DTC does not reset.

If the DTC does reset, replace the K87 Parking Heater Control Module.
