| Circuit/System Description |
The body control module (BCM) will provide a voltage and a ground for the child door lock indicator control circuit when the BCM receives a child door lockout command. The indicator will illuminate to indicate that the rear door latches have been disabled.
| Conditions for Running the DTC |
Battery voltage must be between 9-16 V.
| Conditions for Setting the DTC |
The DTC will set when the BCM detects a malfunction in the child security door lock switch signal circuit.
| Action Taken When the DTC Sets |
The indicator will be continuously illuminated.
| Conditions for Clearing the DTC |
| • | This DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present. | |
| • | When the fault is no longer present, the DTC will be a history DTC. | |

| Circuit/System Verification |
Ignition ON, command the Child Security Lock Indicator ON and OFF with a scan tool. The child door lockout indicator should turn ON and OFF while changing between the commanded states.
| Circuit/System Testing |
| 1. | Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S48A Multifunction Switch - Instrument Panel. | |
| 2. | Connect a test lamp between the control circuit terminal 2 and B+. | |
| 3. | Ignition ON, command the Child Security Lock Indicator ON and OFF with a scan tool. The test lamp should turn ON and OFF while changing between the commanded states. | |
| 4. | If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K9 Body Control Module. | |
| 5. | If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K9 Body Control Module. | |
| 6. | If all circuits test normal, replace S48A Multifunction Switch - Instrument Panel. | |
