Replacement of crankshaft seal (rear)

1.

Remove the gearbox, see Service Manual 4:1 for manual gearboxes or 4:2 for automatic transmissions.

Remove the clutch and pressure plate (man.).
|
3.
|
Remove the flywheel or alternatively the drive plate.
|
4.
|
Lever out the seal. Do not damage the sealing surface.
|
5.
|
Lubricate the sealing lips.
|
6.
|
Insert tools 83 94 967 and 83 94 975 and then the seal. Use tools 83 94 967 and 83 94 975 to tap the seal into place. Make sure that the sealing lips are correctly fitted on the crankshaft.

7.
|
Fit the flywheel or the drive plate with 74 96 292 on the bolts.
Tightening torque 65 Nm (48 lbf ft) + 30.
|
8.
|
Fit the clutch and the gearbox. See Service Manual 4:1 for manual gearbox or 4:2 for automatic transmission.
