"ACTIVATE" command menu

Note

When a system function is activated with the ISAT, the MOTRONIC control module is made to do something that it would not otherwise do in the course of its normal operation. This may cause diagnostic trouble codes to be generated in other systems which are dependent on the MOTRONIC system.

The injectors are activated in 1-3-4-2 order and the CHECK ENGINE lamp (MIL) flashes during the activation phase.



Important

The ACTIVATE functions should always be used with discretion.

Always deactivate an activated function before proceeding further in the ISAT menu.

Always clear any fault codes generated in the MOTRONIC system, or in any other system, when you are through with fault diagnosis.

Simultaneously with the activation of the components in the table, lamp-flash codes will be generated by the CHECK ENGINE lamp (MIL) to show that the MOTRONIC control module is activating the addressed command.

The MOTRONIC control module activates the idle air control valve (IAC) (open-shut ratio = 90%%/10%% ; t = 1 sec).

EVAP VALVE ACTIVATED 30S 0.5 Hz

The MOTRONIC control module activates the EVAP canister purge valve relay and the valve operates (f = 0.5 Hz).

A/C RELAY ACTIVATED 30S 0.5 Hz

The MOTRONIC control module activates the A/C relay (f = 0.5 Hz).

SECOND. AIR RELAY ACTIVATED 30S 0.5 Hz

The MOTRONIC control module activates the secondary air injection pump relay and the pump starts (f = 0.5 Hz).



Activation of the above functions is initiated sequentially by the MOTRONIC control module, regardless of which command is activated. The different commands accordingly take a longer or shorter time to activate and until the requested command is activated, the ISAT display will show WAIT.
