Points to note when diagnosing faults
It is not possible to give any general rules on how fault diagnosis should be carried out
in each individual case. Depending on the fault symptoms and other available information, one
method could be best in a certain situation only to be less suitable in another. However, the
following points may serve as guidelines in connection with fault diagnosis in the MOTRONIC
system and it may not be a bad idea to recall the information on this page from time to time
when diagnosing faults.

Do not forget to check the
fuses.
|
2.
|
Inspect connectors for corrosion on pins and contact surfaces,
excessive play, looseness or anything else which may be the cause of
poor contact or a deterioration in conductivity.
|
3.

Before connecting a BOB into circuit, first check the voltage supply to
pin 37 and make sure that pins 2, 14 and 24 are properly grounded.Note that the main relay
remains operated for a certain time after the ignition has been switched off, see
