Fault symptom

"Door open" indicator lamp does not work.

Diagnostic procedure

1. Select "ACT. INSTR. FUNCT" from the scan tool menu and then "DOOR INDIC. LAMP". The lamp in the main instrument display panel should light up when the ignition switch is "ON".

2. If it does not, connect a BOB and take a voltmeter reading across ICE module connector pin 31 and a good grounding point while at the same time repeating point 1. A reading of 0 V should be obtained with the ignition switch "ON" and 12 V with it "OFF". If the voltage reading is OK, continue fault diagnosis as described in Service Manual 3:5 "Electrical system, Main instrument display panel" .

3. If they are not, connect a BOB and check the lead for continuity/shorting as follows:

across ICE control module connector pin 31 and pin 10 of the main instrument display panel 1 connector.

across ICE control module connector pin 31 and pin 38 of the main instrument display panel 2 connector.

If the car is equipped with an anti-theft alarm, also check the lead between ICE connector pin 31 and pin 3 of the anti-theft alarm connector for continuity/shorting.

4. Disconnect the main instrument display panel from the BOB cable and ground pin 10 of the main instrument display panel 1 connector or pin 38 of the main instrument display panel 2 connector and repeat point 2. If the voltage reading is OK, continue fault diagnosis as described in Service Manual 3:5 "Electrical system, Main instrument display panel" .

If the voltage reading is not OK, proceed to .
