Oil pressure warning lamp (MIU 2) |
Fault symptoms |
The lamp does not light up when the ignition switch is turned to the Drive position. The lamp does not go out when the engine is started
Diagnostic procedure |
1. |
Raise the car and check the
warning lamp circuit by grounding the pressure sensor's connecting pins while the
engine is running.
First make sure that the central warning lamp is not alight. The oil pressure warning lamp and the central warning lamp should light up. If both lamps light up, the fault is in the pressure sensor which will have to be changed. If only the central warning lamp lights up, the oil presure warning lamp bulb is faulty and must be changed. If none of the lamps light up, continue with point 2. |
3. |
Check for an open circuit by taking a reading across pin 17 on the BOB and a
good ground.
