Fault symptom
Direction indicators do not function when alarm is tripped
1.
Check that the normal indicator function works by turning on the hazard flashers.
If the hazard flashers do not function, proceed with fault diagnosis in Service Manual 3:5 Electrical system, section "Fault diagnosis ICE".
2.
Connect ISAT and select "ACTIVATE", then "FLASHERS". Activate the flashers with "ON".
The flashers should glow steady.
3.
If not, select "READ VALUES" on the ISAT menu (leave "activate" function "ON") and then select "RELAY, FLASHERS". Read off the display.
When flashers are activated -
"ACTIVE"
If not correct, proceed to step 5.
4.
If function is correct in step 3, check the wiring harness for open circuit/short-circuit to ground by measuring resistance between:
•
control module connection pin 12 and connections for left direction indicators.
•
control module connector pin 25 and connections for the right direction indicators. The resistance must be < 1 Ohm.
