Checking hood switch
Checking hood switch |
Fault symptom |
Alarm is not tripped when hood is opened and alarm is activated
Action |
1. |
Connect ISAT and select "READ VALUES", then select "BONNET". Read off the ISAT display.
Open hood - "OPEN" Closed hood - "CLOSED" |
2. |
If not correct, connect BOB and measure resistance between the theft alarm connection pin 16 and a good grounding point.
Open hood - < 1 Ohm Closed hood - OL If the resistance is correct, proceed to step 6. |
3. |
Check the wiring harness for open circuit/short-circuit by measuring resistance between the theft alarm connection pin 16 and connection 1 on the hood switch.
|
4. |
Also check the resistance between connection 2 on the hood switch and the battery negative terminal.
Resistance in step 3 and 4 must be < 1 Ohm. |
5. |
Check the voltage between connection 2 and the battery negative terminal. The voltage must be 0 V.
|
6. |
If the resistance and voltage is correct in steps 4 and 5, the malfunction is likely in the switch, change switch and check the function.
|
7. |
If the malfunction remains despite the above checks, continue fault diagnosis on page
.
