Checking luggage compartment lighting switch

Checking luggage compartment lighting switch

Fault symptom

Tailgate disconnected from alarm LED flashes during delay period

Action

1. Connect ISAT, select "READ VALUES" and then "TAILGATE". Read off the ISAT display.

Open tailgate - "OPEN"

Closed tailgate - "CLOSED"

2. If incorrect, connect BOB and measure the voltage while repeating step 1. Measure between theft alarm connection pin 4 and a good grounding point.

Open tailgate - 0 V

Closed tailgate - 12 V

Note If the luggage compartment lighting is out of order, voltage is only 1.5 V instead of 12 V.

If voltage is incorrect, proceed to step 5.

3. Check the wiring harness for open circuit/short-circuit by measuring resistance between theft alarm connection pin 4 and the luggage compartment lighting switch.

The resistance should be < 1 Ohm.

4. If resistance is correct, the malfunction is likely in the switch.

Check the switch grounding against the body.

5. If the malfunction remains despite the above checks, continue fault diagnosis on page .
