Checking luggage compartment lighting switch
Checking luggage compartment lighting switch |
Fault symptom |
Tailgate disconnected from alarm LED flashes during delay period
Action |
1. |
Connect ISAT, select "READ VALUES" and then "TAILGATE". Read off the ISAT display.
Open tailgate - "OPEN" Closed tailgate - "CLOSED" |
2. |
If incorrect, connect BOB and measure the voltage while repeating step 1. Measure between theft alarm connection pin 4 and a good grounding point.
Open tailgate - 0 V Closed tailgate - 12 V Note If the luggage compartment lighting is out of order, voltage is only 1.5 V instead of 12 V. If voltage is incorrect, proceed to step 5. |
3. |
Check the wiring harness for open circuit/short-circuit by measuring resistance between theft alarm connection pin 4 and the luggage compartment lighting switch.
The resistance should be < 1 Ohm. |
4. |
If resistance is correct, the malfunction is likely in the switch.
Check the switch grounding against the body. |
5. |
If the malfunction remains despite the above checks, continue fault diagnosis on page
.
