Checking microswitch in tailgate
Alarm cannot be activated/deactivated with key in the tailgate
1.
Connect ISAT, select "READ VALUES" and then select "TAILGATE LOCK". Read off the ISAT display.
Open tailgate -
"OPEN"
Closed tailgate -
"CLOSED"
2.
If incorrect, connect BOB and disconnect ISAT.
Measure resistance between theft alarm connection pin 15 and a good grounding point while repeating step 1.
Open tailgate -
< 1 Ohm
Closed tailgate -
OL
If the resistance is correct, proceed to step 5.
3.
Check the wiring harness for open circuit/short-circuit by measuring resistance between theft alarm connection pin 15 and connection 1.
4.
Also check the resistance between connection 2 on the microswitch and a good grounding point.
Resistance in step 3 and 4 must be < 1 Ohm.
5.
Also check the voltage between connection 2 and a good grounding point. The voltage must be 0 V.
6.
If the resistance and voltage is correct in steps 4 and 5, the malfunction is likely in the microswitch, change switch and check the function.
7.
If the malfunction remains despite the above checks, continue fault diagnosis on page
.
