Cleaning the cooling circuit

Cleaning the cooling circuit
Connect flushing equipment 87 91 824 to the cooling circuit in the opposite direction of flow.
Note
Important
Always use protective gloves. Incorrect connection can damage the gearbox, as the fluid filter includes a non-return valve preventing the fluid from circulating in the gearbox. Neither will the cooler be cleaned.
1.
Oil the sealing surface of the adapter plate with DEXRON II and fit a new fluid filter.
2.
Connect one of the hoses in the kit to the outlet on the bottom of the adapter plate (opposite to the fluid filter).
3.
Raise the car and remove the left-hand air shield.
4.
Detach the delivery hose from the lower transmission coupling and connect it to the coupling on the side of the adapter plate (inlet).
5.
Detach the return hose from the upper transmission coupling and connect the hose from the bottom of the adapter.
6.
Couple together the return hose from the cooler with the remaining hose in the kit and connect it to the lower coupling on the transmission.
7.
Fill the gearbox with fluid, start the engine and check the integrity of the connections.
8.
Apply the handbrake and depress the brake pedal.
9.
Move the selector lever to position D and let the cleaning process progress for 5 minutes.
10.
Detach the hose from the lower coupling on the transmission and separate the joint between the hose from the cooler and the hose from the cleaning kit.
11.
Detach the cleaning kit hose from the upper transmission coupling and connect the return hose from the cooler instead.
12.
Detach the delivery hose from the coupling on the side of the adapter (inlet) and connect it to the lower transmission coupling.
13.
Make sure the hoses are not resting on the subframe. Fit the air shield and lower the car.
14.
Check the engine oil and transmission fluid levels and top up as necessary.
