Switch, SPORT

By means of a spring-loaded switch in the knob of the selector lever it is possible to change between the NORMAL and SPORT gear-shifting programs. NORMAL is always engaged when starting. When the SPORT program is engaged, the transmission stays longer then normal in each gear at wide open throttle without kick-down and the shifting points are adapted for maximum performance. The gear-shifting points for light acceleration and wide open throttle with kick-down are identical for both NORMAL and SPORT programs, however. With the switch activated, the voltage on pin 20 of the transmission control module is 0 V (ground). When the SPORT program is selected, the SPORT indicator lamp in the main instrument display panel lights up.
The SPORT program will be disengaged if:
| • | the switch is reactivated | |
| • | the ignition switch is turned to the ON or OFF position | |
| • | the limp-home mode is activated | |
| • | the WINTER shifting program is activated. | |
