SID messages
SID messages |
The Sensonic system sends messages to the SID via a lead from pin 24.
Communication is of single-wire data link type.
The following messages can be displayed:
• |
"DISENGAGE GEAR" This will be displayed if the speed of the input shaft exceeds 7000 rpm after a gear change or, after 3 seconds, if neither the brake pedal nor the accelerator is depressed when the car is stationary and in gear. The message also shows whether an attempt has been made to start the engine with a gear engaged or with reverse gear engaged without the brake pedal being depressed.
|
• |
"SHIFT DOWN" This will be displayed if the speed of the input shaft is below 850 rpm after a gear change.
|
• |
"OVERHEATED CLUTCH" This lights up when the clutch is overloaded.
|
When no message is to be displayed, the "no message" signal is sent.
