| Removal |
| 1. |
Lift the car.

Remove the return springs from the levers on the right and left-hand
sides.
|
|
| 3. |
Press the rear guide sleeve out of the holder on the left and right-hand
sides.
|
|
| 4. |
Press the front guide sleeve out of the bracket on the right-hand
side.
|
|
| 5. |
Remove the cable from the levers.
|
|
| 6. |
Remove the nuts from the heat shield panel in front of the tank.
|
|
| 7. |
Disconnect the cable from the link rod.
2-cable system: Remove the adjustment nut from the pull rod and fold under the cable equalisation. Measure and note the thread length on the pull rod. |

| 8. |
Remove the rubber gaiter.
|
|
| 9. |
Lower the car and remove the driver seat and centre console (see service
manual 8).
|
|
| 10. |
Remove the two handbrake securing bolts and the handbrake contact cable lug.
Lift out the handbrake unit.

| Fitting |
| 1. |
Fit the cable lug to the
handbrake contact.
|
|
| 2. |
Fit the handbrake and tighten the two securing bolts.
|
|
| 3. |
Fit the centre console and driver seat (see Service manual 8).
|
|
| 4. |
Raise the car and fit the rubber gaiter and the link rod to the cable.
2-cable system: Fit the cable equaliser to the pull rod and the adjustment nuts to the measured thread length. |

| 5. |
Fit the cable to the levers.
|
|
| 6. |
Fit the front guide sleeve to the bracket on the right-hand side.
|
|
| 7. |
Fit the rear guide sleeves.
|
|
| 8. |
Fit the lever return springs.
|
|
| 9. |
Fit the heat shield panel.
|
|
| 10. |
Lower the car and check the handbrake operation.
|
|
